"Target 3 embraces the two other targets' aim. Scientists' comprehension of rings of Saturn will help reveal mysteries around the moon Pan (Target 1) and the F ring (Target 2).

At the outset, the weather conditions (for an example, its lightning storms which are 10,000 stronger than on Earth) on Saturn are significantly important for the comparison between the planets that have been thoroughly observed and the other planets, which could have not been observed properly by scientists. If the conditions on a gas giant such as Saturn are observed accurately, many other extrasolar gas giants' weather conditions can be presumed and whether they are gas giants or not can be fathomed. Compendiously, the recognition of the weather conditions on Saturn will implicate the precision of the knowledge about the extrasolar planets and will raise the hypothesis whether an extrasolar planet is a gas giant or not.

Moreover, the 15th brightest star in the nighttime sky, Spica will be at the center of the image that Target 3 offers. When the Cassini moves past, Spica will be eclipsed by the rings. Throughout the occultation, the light from Spica will be overshadowed by Saturn's rings by passing in front of this bright star. With the mensuration of the quantity of the light blocked by the material in the rings-, which are ice and rock-, a broad understanding of ring structure and thickness, and noesis on the shapes and sizes of the particles in the rings and the way they communicate will be exposed. Briefly, as a result of the eclipse, Saturn's substructure will be acknowledged.

Furthermore, scientists very recently detected a huge increase in the amount of ethylene gas (whose origin is still a mystery and also it isn't typically observed on Saturn.) after a massive storm on Saturn. They also found that with this storm, there has been a temperature spike, which is quite extreme and almost unbelievable. Brigette Hesman, the study's lead author and a University of Maryland scientist who also works at Goddard, proclaimed that: "...especially in this part of Saturn's atmosphere, which typically is very stable. To get a temperature change of the same scale on Earth, you'd be going from the depths of winter in Fairbanks, Alaska, to the height of summer in the Mojave Desert." Concisely, the weather conditions have not been ascertained yet and lightning storms, which have been recently discovered, are still in many ways a mystery.

A broad comprehension of ring structure and noesis on the shapes and sizes of the particles in the rings and the way they communicate will end with the result of Target 1 and 2. Also, the knowledge of the weather conditions on Saturn is incomparably important for the manifestation of the extrasolar planets. Hence, a close-up image of Saturn and its rings with Spica as center taken with Cassini's Narrow Angle Camera has the highest scientific value."
